Attendance Policy at MHS
Every Day Counts!
Regular attendance is correlated with successful academic achievement. Student absence from school should be limited to those instances in which absence is genuinely unavoidable.
If your child will be absent for the day, please submit an absence from the Parent Portal, this is the recommended way of reporting. Go to Campus Parent>More>Absence Request. Parent instructions click here. You can also call our 24-hour attendance line. The number is 763-272-3010. Leave a message which includes your name, the date, your child's name, and the reason for the absence. Please submit it on the Parent Portal or call each day your child is absent. If you know they will be gone for more than one day, you may leave the expected dates of absence (ie for vacation). You may request homework after two days of absence. Substitute teachers do not have access to the teacher's voicemail or email.
If a parent/guardian does not notify the school when a student is absent, the absence will be marked as unexcused. We are required to report a change of Educational Neglect to Wright County after seven unexused absences.
